It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Noemi Marson on August 31, 2022 at the age of 96 at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her daughter at her bedside. Born in Cordenons, Pordenone, Italy on May 19, 1926, she married the love of her life, Giovanni Marson in 1953 and came to Canada in 1957 to join her husband to live in Port Arthur, Ontario.

She devoted herself to raising their two children and was a loving mother and dedicated homemaker. A talented cook, passionate gardener of flowers and vegetables, she would grow some of the best radicchio in town. Mom welcomed all who would come to visit at the house and always greeted them with her beautiful smile. Those who knew her would describe her as the “sweetest” person. She considered her closest friends as an extension of our family.

Noemi will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Walter Marson and daughter Nadia Marson, and several nieces and nephews in Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Giovanni, her parents, and was the last to survive of all her siblings.

There are so many people to share gratitude with at this time. Thank you to her family physician, Dr. Scali, for the exceptional care mom received throughout the years, and for the compassionate care she received from the home care team, the staff at both TBRHSC and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Funeral services for Noemi will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Church (123 Hilldale Road) where Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 6, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 North Cumberland Street) where the Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Rev. Pasquale Coccimiglio.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations made in Noemi’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
