Norma Berlund

Norma Ingrid Berglund (nee Svensson), age 87 years, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Norma was born in Forbes Township on January 24, 1931 and grew up in Finmark. In 1947 she travelled to Sweden to work in her relative’s restaurant until 1957 when she returned to Port Arthur where she worked as a housekeeper and governess to a local family. In 1962 she married Earl Leslie Berglund and moved back to Finmark. She enjoyed her flower gardens, her dogs and baking the world’s best cinnamon buns and cookies.

Norma is survived by her son Jeffrey Berglund and her brother Henry Svensson.
She was predeceased by her husband, daughter Susan, parents, sister Francis and brother James.

A service in celebration of Norma’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Susan Mattinson. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. A luncheon will follow the service in the reception hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada.
