Mrs. Norma Elizabeth Esau, age 80 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with her family by her side.

Norma was born in Port Arthur on September 30, 1936. Norma’s life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of them all and enjoyed her special moments with each of them, whether it was chatting, playing games or offering her advice.

Cooking and baking everyone’s favourite pies and cookies was one of her greatest joys; she made the best cabbage rolls, perogies and dill pickles and was always willing to share her ‘secret’ recipes. She especially enjoyed her dinners with the good ol’gals and her evening coffees knitting or crocheting with her good friend ‘Kush’. Time never slowed her down, it seemed with each passing year she became more active with excursions with the 55+ centre and travel, always looking forward to her next adventure.

Norma is survived by her children Ken (Normande) Esau, Gordon (Lily) Esau, Donna (Frank) Prisco, Diane (Attilio) Garro. She will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Nancy (Richard), Natalie (Sami), Crystal, Neal (Mindy), Mark, Nina (Terry), Nicole (Craig), Daniel, Andrew and Steven (Bailey) as well as her great-grandchildren, Claire, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Jaxon, Liam, and Molly.

Norma was pre-deceased by her husband Henry Esau, and good friend Henry Brule.

A Celebration of Norma’s life will be held on Monday, April 24th, 2017 from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Victoria Inn (Embassy Room). A private family interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Norma to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
