It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Olga Klimczak (nee Staszkiel), age 76 years, announce her passing on February 28, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Olga was born to Anne and Joseph Staszkiel on March 22, 1938 in Melville, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Fort William, Ontario in 1942 and Olga and her siblings attended St. Peter’s School and St. Patrick’s High School. After high school Olga began working as a clerical stenographer at the Walter. P Hogarth Hospital (SAN), and soon followed her strong faith and joined the Oblate Missionaries working in Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. After 5 years Olga returned to Fort William and her life took a different path when she began working for the Ministry of Health and later the Ministry of Labour until her retirement in 1996.

Olga had a generous heart and a great love for life. She was active in her church, she enjoyed travelling, reading and music, and was a member of the St. Agnes choir for many years. She was a wonderful cook and deeply loved her family and dear friends.

Olga was a devoted mother and will be missed by her daughter Rosemary Scofich (Stephen) and was a proud nana to Kathryn and Eric Scofich. She is survived by her siblings, Julia Sore (Les), Mary Ann Cambly (Gus), Emily Anderson (Dale), Gerald Staszkiel (Sharon), Bernie Staszkiel (Susan), Joanne Greshuk (Rod), Richard Staszkiel (Heather) and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Andrew Migay and the palliative care and hospice staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their sincere care and support of Olga and family over the last 16 months. Also, thank you to the many friends who visited Olga in the hospital and made her feel cherished as she came to the end of her journey.
