Mrs. Olga Poulsen, nee Friberg, age 99 years, passed away peacefully at Dawson Court on Wednesday, February 9, 2011.

Born in Denmark, she came to Canada with her family in 1927, settling in Fort William where she worked for the Mathews family in Thunder bay and Silver Islet, prior to marrying John Poulsen in the late 1930's. Olga and John lived at Johnson Landing, Pass Lake where she was a devout Lutheran and a faithful member of Salem Church, teaching Sunday school for over 30 years.

Olga is survived by 3 sisters, Asta Isaksen, Margret Knudsen, and Ruth Holliday; nieces and nephews and other family in the Thunder bay area, North Bay, and B.B.

Predeceased by her husband John; her only child, Eric who was tragically killed in 1954; her parents P.R. And Marie Friberg; brothers Eric and Ernie Friberg; and cousin and close friend Anna Grann.

Olga will be remembered as a loving aunt and neighbour to so many young folk for her love and baking which was always in her cookie jar.

Cremation has taken place. Private family interment of ashes will be held in the family plot, Salem Cemetery, Pass Lake at a later date. If friends so desire, donations made to Salem Lutheran Church, Pass Lake would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
