Mrs. Pam Johnson (Fox), age 90 years, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 at Roseview Manor, Thunder Bay, with her two daughters at her side.

Pam was born in London England to Ethel and Sydney Fox in 1931.  She had a tumultuous childhood growing up during WW2.   She recounted stories of bombings in her neighborhood, bomb shelters and rationings in London prior to moving to safety to stay with her relatives in Wales.  

She returned to London to finish her schooling and eventually trained to be a registered nurse at Whittington Hospital, London.  As a young adult, Pam enjoyed cycling and sailing and went on many adventures through the English countryside with her best friend Hazel.

Pam arrived in Canada in 1959 and began her nursing career in Sioux Lookout.  She nursed in Edmonton and eventually Ear Falls.  She returned to Ear Falls from Edmonton to marry Keith, who she had met at a dance in Sioux Lookout.  Pam and Keith lived in Ear Falls and lovingly raised their 2 daughters instilling in them their love for the out of doors.

Pam was a naturalist and enjoyed the beauty of nature especially bird watching.  While in Ear Falls, she was a Girl Guide Leader, an active member of the United Church and worked for many years as the secretary at the Ear Falls Elementary School.

Pam will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by:  her daughters Juliet and Patricia, her son-in-law Rod and her four grandsons:  Erik, Lucas, Alexander and Nicholas.  Pam will also be missed by her brother-in-law Ross (Gloria), her sister-in-law Mary-Lou (Brian) and her many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, England and the US. 

She was predeceased by her husband Keith, her parents Ethel and Sydney Fox and her brothers Peter and Kenneth
Fox.

Pam was lovingly cared for in Roseview Manor for the last five years.  The staff was like a second family to her and she was treated with great care and respect.  Extra love was given by her special care givers Rick, James and Julia.

A celebration of Pam’s life will take place on Monday August 22, 2022 beginning at 11 AM, presided by Reverend Rob Smith, at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 Syndicate Ave S., Thunder Bay, ON.  Visitation will start one hour prior.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Pam’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay
or the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
