Mrs. Patricia Greco (nee Austin), age 68 years, a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hospice Unit, on October 20, 2016, with family by her side.

Pat attended Oliver Road Public School and Hammarskjold High School, worked at Loblaws/ A&P, then 'retired' to become a stay at home wife/mother, which really meant time to pursue her passions of creating (sewing, knitting, ceramics, embroidery, etc.) and music.

More than 15 years of this time was dedicated to the Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club as a 'rink/travel-mom', creating one-of-a-kind dresses, making Ice Show costumes, volunteering, and developing lasting friendships. During Ice Show, her basement was taken over, running multiple sewing machines, glue guns and blasting music (all while her husband tried to sleep after night shifts!), until taking the summers off to spend at camp at Shebandowan.

She was never without her music, a passion that led to an impressively archived collection and as many live concerts as she could attend, never missing a Thunder Bay Blues Festival since its inception, including this past summer.

Pat spent as much time outside in the summer as possible, taking up gardening and enjoying 'happy hour' with friends and family on the deck. Much of her last 15 years were dedicated to taking care of family in need, including caring for her husband through his battle with cancer, before they unfortunately traded places so he could care for her.

Pat will by sadly missed by her husband of 39 years, Joseph; daughter Antonia (Daniel Orlowski); siblings Judy Owchar (Jack), Debby Boyes (Ken), and Tom Austin; nieces and nephew Tracy Puukila (Rick), Brian Villella, and Brooke Robinson (Jeff); and numerous other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Audrey Austin. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.

A Come and Go Reception for Pat will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, on Saturday, October 29, 2016. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Research Fund.
