Patricia May “Pat” Kruger died peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at her home in Dawson Court. Pat was born on November 18, 1940 in Saskatoon, SK.

She is survived by sisters Maryanne Booker, Judy Stebner and children Ed Kruger, Bonnie Rikkonen, Mike Kruger, Anne Kruger, Grandchildren Ricky and Dana Kruger, Kyla and Kari Rikkonen, Danielle Demianiuk, Jon Kruger, Andrew Kruger and great grandchild Derian Demianiuk. She was predeceased by parents George and Anne Kading and brother Terry Kading.

Pat was a champion of the underdog. The better part of her life was dedicated to those less fortunate. Up until her final breath, she put others ahead of herself.

Pat was a fixture at Dawson Court and will be forever remembered for her dedication and her determination towards helping others. Pat had many interests and hobbies but nothing more passionate than her knitting and crocheting.

Her love of knitting was legendary as she needled thousands of miles of yarn for charities, family, friends and strangers whom she felt needed a little cheer up gift in time of need. Pat’s spirit, tenacity and love will be missed.  She is gone but not forgotten.  Her family sends heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Dawson Court who looked after Pat and made her last days as comfortable as possible.

A celebration of life for Pat will be held on October 20th, 2015 at 2:00pm at Dawson Court, 523 Algoma Street, North, Thunder Bay.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pat’s two favorite charities; the Thunder Bay Humane Society or the Underground Gym.
