Mr. Patrick Robert Lammi, 36 years of age, passed away peacefully in hospital on January 24, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends.

Patrick was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario surrounded by his loving family and friends. During his childhood he was an avid hockey player and he enjoyed skiing, swimming and diving. As a child, Patrick spent a lot of time with his brother James, cousins and uncle Juan exploring in the wilderness, fishing, skidooing and quading.

At the age of 19, Patrick began work at Superior Trailers and worked alongside his uncles Roland, Jimmy, Chris and Joss.

In his mid-twenties, Patrick followed in his father's footsteps and became a Journeyman Welder, and began work on the pipeline alongside his dad Robert. Patrick was well-known for his strong work ethic and was respected by his peers.  Patrick was caring and had a very gentle way about him.

Patrick had a love for animals and was a wonderful caregiver to family pets. Patrick enjoyed taking photos of nature and people, was artistic in woodworking and enjoyed working on home renovations. Patrick was extremely meticulous, paid close attention to detail and left no project unfinished.

Patrick was very social and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family, hanging out in the garage, watching hockey, and going on camping trips.  In 2009, Patrick's mother Diane introduced him to his beautiful future-wife Caroline. Patrick and Caroline were a match made in heaven and loved each other unconditionally; they were best friends. They were a couple that everyone enjoyed being around because of their welcoming and funny nature.

In August 2012, Patrick was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Patrick never complained about his diagnosis; he was always positive, brave and selfless. Along with Caroline, his mother Diane, family and friends, Patrick was supported and loved during the fight of his life.

Patrick will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Caroline Lammi; mother Diane Jalbert-Gagne (Cid); brother James Lammi; grandparents Emilien and Gemma Jalbert; step-sister Rachel McGovern; aunts and uncles Roland (Terri), Chris (Brenda), Marjolaine (Juan), Louise (Jimmy), Joss, Donald, Richard, Marlene and Maureen; cousins Ryan, Melissa (Scott), Coady, Kevin (Corine), Krista (Jeff), Amanda (Adam), Steven, Evan and Ethan; in-laws Diane & Steve, Stephanie, Anna, Ricky & Marlene.

Patrick was predeceased by his father Robert Glen Lammi; grandparents Oliver and Helen Lammi and uncle Ken Lammi.

Patrick's family would like to extend a warm and special thank you to the nurses and physicians who treated Patrick over the last three years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Fr.  Rey Ronquillo of St. Elizabeth's Church.  Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m.  Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Patrick's memory to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation - Northern Cancer Fund, www.healthsciencesfoundation.ca.
