Paula Morrow (nee Bortolon)

We are saddened to announce the passing of Paula Morrow (nee Bortolon), age 64 years, on Sunday, May 1st, 2022 in the TBRHSC. Born September 6, 1957, she was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. She worked as a dedicated Administrative Assistant for many years, including over twenty years working alongside her husband Andy before their retirement.

Paula was a gifted storyteller and was always the life and soul of the party. She loved cooking and baking for friends and family, doing her daily crossword, watching Jeopardy with her girls, spending summers at camp on Lake Shebandowan and spoiling her fur babies Wyatt and Shep.

She is survived by her daughters Gabbie and Andrea, father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Lorraine Morrow, step-mother Jenny Bortolon, aunt and uncle by marriage and dear friends Lorna and Herb Lehtinen, cousins and siblings at heart Joanne (Kevin) McEvoy, Larry (Susan) and Louis (Rose) Bortolon, sisters-in-law Anne (Tom) Dorval and Susan (Dave) Lui, brother-in-law Louis (Melanie) Morrow, step brothers Robert (Tommasina) and Dennis (Lee Ann) Muzzin and her best friend of sixty years Carmel (Doug) Robinson. Paula is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, treasured nieces and nephews and friends.

Paula was predeceased by her husband Andy and her parents Ricky and Joyce Bortolon.

Special thanks to Dr. Ruberto, the wonderful nurses of 3B and ICU and all the staff of the TBRHSC who cared for Paula.

As per Paula’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 12th, 2022 from 1:00-3:30 p.m., with words of tribute at 2:00 p.m., at the Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Ave. Private interment to take place at a later date. A mass for Paula will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at 5:00pm, at St. Peter’s Church, 615 Connolly St. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
