Pearl Cyba
Mrs. Pearl Jenny Cyba passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 1:36 p.m. with family by her side at the age of 102. Pearl was born on March 7, 1916 to John and Mary Sherman in Vermillion Bay, Alberta. She left the farm when she was 16 years old with her sister Florence, later settling in Sudbury, ON where she met her first husband Angus Corey and together they had two children Walter and Bob Corey. Pearl later moved to Port Arthur, where she re-married Peter Cyba and had a son Brian Cyba at age 42.

Pearl came from a family of 11 children, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. She worked at New Method Laundry as the head girl for 5 years walking to and from work every shift. Pearl moved to Conmee Street in June of 1960 and resided there until she was 101 years old, after an injury she resided at Roseview manor since November 29, 2017, until her passing on August 10, 2018.

Pearl always washed her tea towels by hand on a washboard until age 101 saying they would never be as white if she used the washing machine. She also threw a shovel or two of snow with the boys up to age 100 and at age 100 she insisted she cut down a branch off of a pine tree. She was always doing something as she never stopped moving. She was either sweeping or raking leaves and always with a smile on her face. She enjoyed needle point and painting and also painted many pillow cases in liquid embroidery. Pearl only had a grade three education but she taught us a lot.

Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her sons Walter, Bob and Brian as well as her girls club, Jennifer Kelly, Amber Kelly and Joyce Wilson. Also remembering her will be many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

The family would like to thank all the heartfelt staff at Roseview Manor on the Third Floor Cheshire, love all of you guys and all you have done, thank you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. P.M. Stilla, V.G. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Love you mom catch up with you later.

Love from your Boys always
