Philip Derek Heasman, with his family by his side, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, in Thunder Bay, ON. He leaves behind his beloved wife Kathleen (aka Kate), his two daughters Laura (Shane) and Trina (Josh), his two grandchildren Madison and Kenzie, his sisters Elaine (Butch) and Deborah (Mark), his nieces and nephews Kirk (Kristen), Mark (Mary), Jordan and Alex, and family extended family member Clint (Shawn) and their two children Sidney and Charlie. He was predeceased by his parents Derek and Eileen Heasman.
Born in England on October 19, 1951, Philip (aka 'Flipper') had an adventurous spirit and loved the outdoors. You would often see Phil loading up his Argo and headed into the next lake he had never fished before. We all have fond memories of sitting in the boat in total silence only to hear him yell out "Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy!". Aside from fishing, Phil also enjoyed spending time on welding projects such as making trailers and putting together model airplanes and cars. Phil was always very handy and could fix anything. He would always say "if a man put it together, a man can take it apart".
Phil worked as a spot welder for Bombardier for many years. He met many good friends and had good memories there.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Noel, Debbie, Jim, Sherri and Dusan for all their love, support, and kindness during these difficult times. We would also like to thank the Cancer Center for all their care over the years and to the Hospice unit at St. Joseph's Care Group for all their support.
He will be deeply missed by all of us!
Until we meet again, love you always.
Rest in peace.
