Mr. Dan Oger, age 85, a long-time resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at Dryden Regional Health Centre on July 23, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Winnipeg, MB, on November 8, 1929, Dan spent the majority of his life in Thunder Bay.  He worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 43 years, retiring as chief millwright in 1992.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing and spending time at his self-built camp at West Loon Lake.  Dan was also an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.

Dan will be sadly missed by wife Gail (nee Miller), daughters Leanne and Adrienne (Grant), and sister Cecile Bonazzo.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by his parents Clement & Jeanne Oger, brother Lorenzo (Larry) and wife Kathleen, brother Jean (John) and wife Rosemary, sister Florence (in infancy) and brother-in-law Frank Bonazzo.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, July 28, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street.  A private funeral service, presided by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla, V.G. of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, will follow on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation CT Scanner Fund (c/o Dryden Regional Health Centre, P.O. Box 3003, 58 Goodall St., Dryden, ON, P8N 2Z6).
