Rachele Costanzo
February 26, 1922 - March 15, 2015
A Good Life Had.

Mrs. Rachele Costanzo, age 93 years, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Delta, B.C. with her loving family by her side.

Rachele was born in Borboruso, Cosenza, Italy, to Angelo and Alessandrina Costanzo.  She was the second eldest of eight children.  Rachele was married to Santo Costanzo in 1940 with whom she had 4 children.

She immigrated to Canada in 1959 with her daughters and joined her husband and son in Thunder Bay to start a new journey.  She was a strong loving woman who enjoyed her family and friends and the good life of gatherings around the dinner table, basement parties, music, church, gardening, walking, picnics, playing cards, bocce, and casino visits.

Her cooking was readily available whether you were hungry or not and the words "no thank you" meant "one please".   She continued to carry on her culture and traditions while residing in Canada and loved passing these along to her grandchildren.

Rachele loved to socialize and meet new people and could often be heard laughing.  She was a hard worker while raising her family and was employed at TK's Factory and The Catholic School Board.  Rachele was a member of St. Anthony's RC Church, belonged to the CWL and the senior's group where she enjoyed playing bingo and being with her friends.

The memories of the life she shared with others will always be cherished.

She will be lovingly missed by her children Simone(Sara), Fiorita “Rita”, Clorinda(Gordon), Gilda(Carmine), and her grandchildren Marisa, Sandra(Robert), Sergio(Delia), Rachel, Rosanna(John-Paul), Santo(Stephanie), Anthony(Amanda), Andrea(Cameron) and 12 great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her sister Giuseppina(Emilio) in Thunder Bay, Teresa(Angelo), Maria(Saverio) in Italy, Francesco(Teresa) in Australia, and brother-in-laws Costantino(Giovanna) of Thunder Bay, Joe(Sally) of Pasco, Washington.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Santo, son-in-law Michele, her parents, in-laws, and other siblings.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 when family and friends will gather in St. Anthony’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini.

The entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum.  Visitation for friends will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 3-5 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, where the Vigil Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
