Ralph Michael Baxter passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospice on June 30, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Ralph was born in Sioux Lookout on July 20, 1968 to Elijah and Florence Baxter. He was raised at Makokibaton Lake on the Albany River and then attended school in Geraldton and Thunder Bay.

During his lifetime he worked for his home community of Marten Falls First Nation, Tikinagan Child & Family Services, Northern Shield Resources as a heavy equipment operator. Until his illness he was employed by the MTO in Pickle Lake. Ralph enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and loved listening to his AC/DC music.

Ralph is survived by his spouse Yvonne Ralph, daughters Dawn Belmore, Jade (Jeremy) Achneepineskum and his son Jonah Baxter. Also survived by his siblings, Bob (Lynn) Baxter, Vida Baxter, Annie Baxter, Charlotte Baxter (Remy), Norman Baxter, Lindberg Baxter and Mae Baxter. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Ida Ralph, brother-in-law’s Clayton Ralph (Heather), Carl Ralph (Sharon). He will be missed by grandchildren Odyssey and Edward Belmore, Sabrina and Kylic Baxter, Chase, Anna and Trey Achneepineskum, Spencer Gagne and Carson Keewasin-Baxter.

He was predeceased by his parents Eli and Florence, brothers Donald, Walter and Harry Baxter. Also, by his father-in-law Edward Cameron and daughter Cassondra Belmore.

Ralph will be sadly missed by many and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 Cumberland St N on Saturday July 9, 2022, Visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00am with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
