Mrs. Regina Victoria “Cheena” McConnell age 75 years, a resident of Fort William First Nation, passed away at her home with her family and members of the Fort William First Nation by her side, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. A lifetime resident of the Fort William First Nation, Cheena drove the school bus for the Fort William First Nation for 36 years until her health forced her to retire.

She loved country music, singing and playing Bingo. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, daughters Pauline (Rodney) and Shellie, her two grandchildren Willis and Emma, whom she adored, her sisters Catherine Collins, Shirley Collins, Carol (Winston) Cornell, Eleanor (Andy) Cech, brother Gordon and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Phyllis and Vincent Bannon, son Willis in infancy, her 1sthusband Paul Boucher, sister Grace Ducharme and brother Howard Bannon.    

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 10:00am, at St. Anne's Mission Church celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker s.j..  Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date.
