We are extremely saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Richard Skok, on August 2, 2024
Richard was born February 5,1973 to Peter and Norma (nee Duke), and lived his life in Thunder Bay, On. On June 11,1999 he married Laurie (nee Wolfe) and they have spent the past 25 years together.
He had a love of hunting, fishing and camping. As a youth, summers were spent at the Duke family camps at Silver Islet. In later years, fishing took him to lakes across the region. Since 2019 he and his family have been camping with friends at Poplar Grove Resort in Kashabowie.
For more than the last 20 years, Richard was an Ironworker by trade, and loved all his brothers in the local 759.
Richard is survived by his wife Laurie, children Deven, Abby and Emma, his mother Norma, his brother Michael (Kelly) and sister Jennifer. He is also survived by his nephew Kasey, nieces Stephanie (Devin) and Grace (Hayden), and numerous great nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his father Peter.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honour of Richard Skok, on Saturday, November 30th from 11-4pm at the Slovak Legion in Thunder Bay. Please RSVP to Laurie at 807-620-1342 via either text or voicemail before Saturday, November 22nd.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Northern Critters in Need dog rescue.
