It is with great sorrow that the family of Richard “Rick” Walter Tabor, age 54 years, announces his unexpected passing at his home on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Rick worked at Abitibi-Bowater for his whole career. He was a true entertainer with a gift for great story telling and a wonderful sense of humour. His knowledge of sports and history was unbelievable. Rick enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survived by his wife Wanda of 29 years; daughters Deidre-Ayn and Erin (Jason); granddaughter Mackenzie; sister Sharon (Jerry) Walsh; brother Bruce and nieces Shelby (Jeff), Shandra (Jason), Shannon (Jason) and Kimberly.

Predeceased by his mother Shirley in 1992 and father Robert in 2001.

Funeral services for the late Mr. Richard Tabor will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Westfort Chapel, 420 Gore St. West at James. Interment to take place at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Westfort Chapel.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Rick to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
