Richard (Dick) Wayne, son of Mamie and Onni Paavi passed away with family at his side. Dick was a pillar of strength and tremendous mentor and inspiration for all that knew him.

Dick attended Port Arthur Collegiate Institute prior to beginning his career with Ontario Hydro. His career provided him the opportunity to meet the wonderful people in his life in Cobalt, Niagara Falls, Scarborough, Toronto, Brampton, and finally allowing him to return to his home town of Thunder Bay. Richard retired from OPG.

Dick was a member of the Thunder Bay Fish and Game, Dawson Trail Handgunners, Royal Canadian Legion Br. 5, Foresters and the Hawk Island Campers.

Dick was truly a remarkable man who has touched and guided each of us in a very special way. Family was what Dick lived for, he will be sadly missed by his wife Joyce (Markall) of 56 years. Daughters Wendy Holmquist, Susan Biancospino and Lorrie Peltola and their families - Melissa, Scott, Trentin, and Braelin, John, Brandon and Bryan, and Richard and Jerid, his cousins Marlene and Angie and their families, as well his numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and their families.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, his grandson Trevor Holmquist, his aunt Lempi, his mother in-law Ethel and Brothers-in-law Bob and Rudy.

A celebration of life will be held at the Valhalla Inn, Ballroom 3, Wednesday, October 14 at 7 P.M. A brief presentation will commence at 7:30 P.M. followed by tea and coffee service.
