It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of our dear Mother, Rita Heney (nee Valiquette) on Tuesday June 28 2016.
Born in Redditt Ontario in 1925, Rita was raised in Current River. She married Peter Heney of Westfort in 1948 in St. Agnes’ Church. She was involved in the Catholic Womens League at St. Elizabeth’s Church and delivered Meals on Wheels for 25 years.
She was dedicated to raising her family and enjoyed many road trips to Minnesota, Toronto and Ottawa. She loved downhill skiing and many years at the cottage at Sandy Beach, Chippewa.
Rita is survived by her children, John, Tim (Susan), Anne Brygidyr and Dan (Donna); grandchildren Patrick Heney(Crystal), Melanie Lacaria (Dave), Jeff Heney (Sabrina), Carly, Trevor and Scott Heney, Andrea Brygidyr, and great granchildren Hudson, Cooper and Sadie Heney and Maya Lacaria. Niee Linda Valiquette and nephews George (Linda) and Paul (Sharon) Valiquette.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter, parents Bernadette and Paul Valiquette, George Valiquette and his wife Colleen.
Cremation has taken place and a Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Ottawa.
Interment will follow at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery. If friends desire, flowers are gratefully declined and memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Care Group Foundation would be appreciated.
