With great sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Ham on May 29, 2022 with his family at his side. This was following some cardiac and lung issues which he did very well to overcome in the last ten years living his life to the fullest.

During his career as Hudson Bay Company manager he worked in places such as Happy Valley, Labrador, Iqaluit and Cambridge Bay in Nunavut, Fort Churchill and Gillam, Manitoba and also many local places such as Red Rock, Marathon, Ignace, White River and Hudson, Ontario

Bob was an avid fisherman, having fished in some of Canada's best fishing spots including the Nelson River in Gillam and the Artic Ocean for Artic Char in a half igloo built to shelter from the wind. Fishing was always a family event with picnics and lots of black fly bites! Bob and his wife Martha (Marty) enjoyed several years camping at Pass Lake. Here they made life long friendships around the fire place and at golfing tournaments. Bob and Marty volunteered at the Dew Drop In, never missing a Friday to help prepare and serve meals. After covid lockdown, they were very happy to get back to the company of their friends at the Current River Community Center for games of cribbage.

Bob is survived by his wife Martha having celebrated 59 years of marriage on May 18. Also survived by daughter Denise Ham (Terry Pawluk) of Dorion. Cheryl Huntus (Victor Lesperence) of Rocky Bay. Grandchildren Jesse (Kyla and Lennon) Tanner and Jayme Huntus (Chris), Carter Parsons (Kira), Darian Almgren (Jolene), Kali, Madison, Jason and Chris (Nicole) Pawluk. Great grand children Payton, Carson and Brielle Almgren, Ayla and Martial Pawluk. Sisters Judy McCallum of Gillam Manitoba (Dennis deceased) and Connie (Rob) Schnell of Winnipeg, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Zaib and nurse John in the ER, Dr.Stallwood, Dr. Kovaks and nurses Teda, Charles and Katie in the ICU unit. Your compassion and tireless efforts will not be forgotten. I know we are missing a few staff who also cared for our dad, thank you. Thank you to our close friends for all of their comforting word and support through this past week.
