On August 31, 2021 Robert John Dahl, age 54, after a brief battle with cancer and with his wife Irene and daughters Hannah and Meghan by his side, his life journey came to an end. Rob was born on February 12, 1967 in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario.

Rob started working for the City of Thunder Bay in 1989, working in many departments over the years. For most of his career he was an equipment operator. Rob was well liked and respected by fellow employees and supervisors for his skills and work ethic. He was never scared of hard work, whether it was on or off the clock. His plan was to retire in February 2022 with the hopes of working in the mines until his wife retired in 3 years time.

Rob loved the outdoors. He was always in his glory when he was hunting, trapping, fishing, camping and spending time at “the shack”.

His biggest pride and joy were his daughters, Hannah and Meghan. He was so proud of everything his girls did. They were the light of his life and he would do anything for them. He would always say “his three girls were everything in the world to him” and the feelings were mutual. There was nothing more he enjoyed than spending time with family.

He will be greatly missed by many, especially by his three girls, Irene, Hannah and Meghan. Rob will be lovingly remembered and missed by his parents Bob and JoyceAnn Dahl, in-Laws Tony and Bev Guadagnolo, Rob and Laura Guadagnolo, nephew Anthony Guadagnolo, his brother in crime John Esteves and numerous other relatives and friends.

Rob (Dad) we love you to the moon and back. You will always be in our hearts and we will forever cherish our memories of you. We miss you so much.

If desired, donations in Rob’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Thunder Bay office.

A ceremony will be held at Hilldale Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a private family interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens to follow. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be by invitation. For friends who are not able to attend in person, the service will be live streamed on the Hilldale Lutheran Church website (link is also on their Facebook page).

For those attending, face masks are to be worn by everyone and maintaining social distancing is mandatory. The family would appreciate everyone following these Covid rules.
