The family of Robert (Rob) John Aldrich are heartbroken to announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025. Born in London, Ontario on November 8, 1949. He moved to Thunder Bay in 1958.

Rob loved skiing at Mount McKay and was the Ft. Wm. Ski Club President for many years until it's closure March, 1989. He was a much respected ski coach, Nancy Greene Chairman. Rob and Diane were also Molson Senior Circuit Co-ordinators.

His career started at CN and then he moved in the Insurance Brokerage of Duncan Insurance as an employee and then partner/owner. He retired in 2007 after the sale of the business.

Fishing for salmon was a passion as was boating with Diane on Grumpy's Toy. He was a past member of IABO, Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Thunder Bay Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife Diane of 44 years, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Sandra (Sam), grandchildren David & Zoryana Charbonneau, and Sara Charbonneau. Great grandchildren Parker & Annabelle Charbonneau. Siblings Sherry Aldrich & family, Mike & Susan Aldrich & family and Kim & Del Phillips & family.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack & Lynn Aldrich, in-laws George & Eleanor Killins, brothers-in-law Ron and Russell Killins and nephew Kalyn Killins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23 at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 11 AM presided by Archdeacon Deborah Kraft.

Donations to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, Cardiac Care or St. Joseph's Foundation, Diabetes Health or the charity of your choice.
