Mr. Robert “Bob” Augusta Robinson died peacefully at the age of 90 in St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Thunder Bay Ontario with family at his side.

Bob was born on November 6, 1927 in Port Arthur Ontario to Henry and Elen Robinson midway into a family of 11 brothers and sisters. Bob left school early working odd jobs to help support his family. He married Amy (Petrovich), the love of his life, in 1953 and began their family shortly thereafter. Bob spent much of his working life at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and retired in 1988 as a Grain Inspector. Upon retirement, Bob and Amy moved to Southern Ontario (St. Catharines) to be closer to their children and grandchildren along with the benefit of a longer golf season (he even got his elusive hole in one). Bob and Amy returned to Thunder Bay in October of 2016.

Bob was a true family man who was always there for his children. Whether it was by giving simple advice or building an extension on the house to give the family more space, he was a man of few words but huge on action. In his retirement years Bob loved to travel with Amy on many road trips and spending as much time as possible with their wonderful grandchildren (8) and great grandchildren (3).

Bob is survived by his wife Amelia “Amy” of Thunder Bay; sister Doris Schrader of Edmonton; children, Mike Robinson of Calgary, Steve Robinson of Thunder Bay and David Robinson of Surrey BC. He is predeceased by his children Roberta Robinson and Patrick Robinson.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre and St. Joseph’s Care group for their excellent care and dedication.

Steve & Leea Robinson will host a Celebration of Life for Bob at their loft in Thunder Bay on Sunday, May 20, 2018 between 2:00PM and 5:00PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life. Please contact Steve Robinson or any family member for details.
