Mrs. Roberta Kathleen Humenaj (Minor) age 76 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Bethammi Nursing Home, on Friday, December 23, 2016. 

Kathleen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 16th, 1940. She moved to Thunder Bay in 1952 with her parents. She began working at the Crippled Children’s Treatment Center on Lilly Street now known as the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre in 1960 until 1969.

Kathleen met Andrew in 1966, was married in 1969 and shortly thereafter gave birth to her son Corey Allan.

Kathleen was a member of Knox United Church on Pruden Street where her father was the minister from 1952 till 1967. She joined St. Peter’s Church in 1982 and the Catholic Womens’ League in 1989. She is survived by her son Corey. Still surviving are numerous relatives in western Canada.

Predeceased by her husband Andrew in 2011, her mother Effie Minor in 1975 and her father Reverend Allan Minor in 1982.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 10:00am, in St. Peter's Church celebrated by Rev. Joseph Arockiam. 

Interment will follow in May 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Prayers will be offered Wednesday evening January 4, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. 

If friends desire, memorials to the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre would be appreciated.

 Kathleen Humenaj will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
