Mr. Robin Edward Freeman, aged 40 years, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023 in the Intensive Care Unit of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by loved ones.

Robin was born on March 1, 1983, in Webequie, Ontario. He lived in Webequie until he started school and his family moved to Oshawa, Ontario. He completed the Advertising program at Durham College and did a year of Film Studies in Ottawa. While in Ottawa, he met his future wife MJ in 2007 and they became a couple in 2008.

Robin and MJ moved to Thunder Bay in 2009 to attend Lakehead University. Following the move, 2010 was one of the happiest years of his life, as that was the year he first became a father to his beautiful Princess Leia. Robin married his wife MJ on October 31, 2012 in his parents' home with his brother Bodi by his side. In 2016, Robin welcomed a new stage of fatherhood with the arrival of his beautiful mini-me, RJ.

Robin worked at various places over the years; McDonald’s, No Frills, EB Games, Canadian Bank Note, Zellers, Walmart, Musselwhite Mine and finally, his most recent job with Service Master. He loved his job and his coworkers, always sharing fun stories about his days at work. When he wasn’t working, he spent most of his time with his daughters and his animals. He was passionate about video games and the video game industry, with the ultimate goal of becoming a full-time streamer. He had many good gaming buddies all over the world, who he loved and cherished from the time he was a teenager until now.

Robin will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife MJ Green, his daughters Leia and Robyn-Jacqueline (RJ) Freeman, his parents Robert and Anna Freeman, his brother Bodi Freeman, his brothers-in-law Alex (Cynthia) and Nicholas (Alex) Green, his nephews Owen Freeman, James Green, and Elliot Green, his father-in-law Telford Bruyere, his dog Data, his cats Commander Sisko and Gul DuCat, his cousins, aunts, uncles, coworkers and many friends.
Robin’s family would like to thank the wonderful ICU staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, including Dr. McCallum, RN Robby, RN Emily, and all the other wonderful nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals that helped look after Robin.

If friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Robin’s memory to the Thunder Bay Humane Society in honour of his love for his animals or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
