The family of Rodney Allen Waisanen sadly announce his peaceful passing, on June 18, 2018 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with family at his side. Rodney was born on October 5, 1951 in Port Arthur.

He worked at A&P, Palm Dairy, M.T.O. and Lac Des Isle mine. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends camping, fishing, hunting, trail riding and socializing with people. Rodney loved spending his time in Kaministiquia exploring and learning about the history of the area that his grandparents decided to homestead when they came to Canada.

Rodney is survived by his wife Susan of 45 years, his son Cory (Debbie), granddaughter Autumn, sister Theresa Altmann (Norbert) numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rodney was predeceased by his daughter Jolene Waisanen, parents Allen and Palmie Waisanen. Rodney will always be remembered for his generosity, always willing to assist anyone needing a hand and making everyone feel welcome in his home.

As per Rodney's wishes Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kam Community Centre on Hwy 102, Friday, June 22, 2018 from 1 p.m - 4 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
