It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roger Arthur George Crocombe on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the age of 81 years, in St. Joseph’s Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roger was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on December 25, 1936 to the late Ivy May Avery & William George Crocombe. Roger married Irene Sepanary on November 12, 1977 and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.

He was employed at The Great Lakes Paper for 35 years in the Mill Garage and retired in 1994. Roger was a member of the Elks Lodge for 45 years. Roger leaves behind his wife Irene, and his sons, Mitchell Crocombe, Edmonton, Alberta, Mark Crocombe, Kamloops, British Columbia, daughter Janis (Eugene) Ross. Granddaughter Melissa Miller, and great grandson Calvin Jones who was his pride and joy, all of Thunder Bay. Also survived by Irene’s daughters Georgina (Rick) Elms, Gia Brunetti:-Provenzano, granddaughter Kristy Elms (Chris) grandson Ryan Elms and great granddaughter Kayley Hughes, Nipigon.

He is also survived by numerous cousins in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Predeceased by his father William George Crocombe on October 5, 1969 and his mother Ivy May Crocombe March 22, 2006. In-laws Tigus Sepanary March 28, 2003, Julia Sepanary June 3, 2008.

Funeral Services for Roger Crocombe will be held on Friday February 2, 2018  at the Blake Funeral Chapel, with visitation for family and friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and prayers at 10:30 a.m.  A lunch will follow at the Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Avenue for 12:00 p.m. and all are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Joseph’s Care Group Sleep Chair.
