Ron Gehl, age 71 years, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2017.
Ron was born in Port Arthur on April 3, 1946. He lived his entire life in Thunder Bay and in his retired years, enjoyed winters in Arizona. His working career was with the Federal Government (Employment and Immigration).
Ron was a wonderful, witty man, who lived life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.
Ron is survived by his brother Bob, nieces Michelle Darnforth, Stacey Purdon (Neal), nephews Jeff Gehl (Dianne) and Jordan Gehl (Blanca) and his grand nieces and nephews Matthew and Benjamin Darnforth, Samuel Purdon and Jackson Gehl.
He was predeceased by his parents Ray and Effie, grandparents, aunts, uncles and sister-in-law Lenore Gehl.
Funeral Services for Ron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla, V.G. of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service time.
Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
