Mr. Ronald Perrier, age 78 years of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully with family at his side, at Pioneer Ridge Home for the Aged on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Ron was a loving husband, gentle father, proud grandfather and a compassionate member of the community. Ron was born in Port Arthur on November 13, 1938 to Leopold and Loretta (Berube).

He was a dedicated member of First Christian Reformed Church on Arthur Street. Ron was employed as a millwright at the shipping yards and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Dad loved his gardening, woodworking and enjoying his family at their camp on Walkinshaw Lake.

Dad also enjoyed his volunteering at the Twice as Nice Thrift Store and singing with the Gospel singers at the Home for the Aged and the Correctional Centre.
 

Ron was united in marriage to his loving wife of 55 years, Henderika Prenger in 1962, and went on to raise a family of four. Ron is survived by his loving wife Henderika, children Ron of Thunder Bay, John (Linda) of Thunder Bay, Cindy (Rick) Breukelman of Thunder Bay, Johnny (Sarah) Siliezar of Colwood, B.C.; Grandchildren Adrian (Kaila) Perrier of Thunder Bay, Tyler (Meagan Guzzel) Breukelman of Thunder Bay, Jenny (Cam Claridge) Breukelman of Thunder Bay, Katrina (Lucas Hartley) Perrier of Thunder Bay, Luke (Meagan Hurrel) Perrier of Thunder Bay, Scott Breukelman of Thunder Bay, Jeremy and Jovia Perrier of Thunder Bay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Loretta and Leopold, brothers Leon, Peter, Don, Bob, Bruce; sisters Marjorie, Phillis, Dorothy, June, Georgina, Bernadette and Charlotte (died in infancy).

A special thanks to Dr. Johnson, MaryJane (RN) and to all the staff on Plaza One at Pioneer Ridge for all your compassionate care shown to Dad. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 when family and friends will gather at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church led by Pastor Joe Hamilton.  A private family interment will take place at Stanley Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 7-9:00 p.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church.  If friends desire, memorials to Parkinson Canada or the Twice as Nice would be appreciated.
