It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosabel Johnson on January 9, 2018 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with her children by her side.

Rosabel Harms was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan on February 28, 1928, the youngest of 5 children. She met and married Earle Johnson on November 26, 1948 and together they raised 5 children. She retired from Lakehead Newsprint in 1993 after 24 years and she and Earle then enjoyed travelling to Arizona and Florida in the winter and fishing and camping at Pass Lake in the summer. After Earle passed away in 2001, Rosabel shared her time between Thunder Bay and Ottawa. She loved staying at the lake and enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of them all.

Rosabel is survived by her children Del Johnson (Barbara) Geneva, Vivian Jackson (Dave) Lac des Loups, Ken Johnson (Patti) Ottawa, Lorraine Leikkari (Rob) Thunder Bay,
her 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, her sister Geraldine Whiskin (Vernon) and her closest friend, Kay Lacey in Thunder Bay.

We would like to thank all of the staff on 2C who cared for our mother and took care of us during this difficult time. You are so amazing and we will never forget your kindness. Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who phoned, texted, and sent meals for us. We love you all.

Cremation and Internment have taken place at Riverside Cemetery. A Celebration of life will take place in Ottawa on February 28th, on what would have been her 90th birthday.
