Rosemary Chisholm (nee Anderson)

It is with profound sadness to say goodbye to our Mom, Nan and G-Nan, who passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, February 20th, 2022.

Mom was born at home in Schreiber on February 6, 1932, to Irving and Catherine Anderson and had recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond who awaits her arrival with dancing shoes on, her brothers Gregory and Jack (Gladys), brother-in-law Robert Chisholm, sister-in-law Liz (Wilfred) Bertin.

Rosemary is survived by her 3 daughters and their families – Tracey (Linda), Kelly (Lorne Molinski), Jane Ann (Pat Rapley), grandchildren Erin (Randy), Dylan (Staci), Nigel (Melissa); Grace; Emma (Darren), Courtis, Madeline; and great-grandchildren Zoey and Xander, Luca and Lola; and dear friend, Franny. She is also survived by her brother Patrick Anderson and brother-in-law Frank Chisholm (Rita).

Rosemary will be deeply missed by her immediate and extended family and friends, as well as multiple nieces, and nephews, whom she adored.

Mom began her nursing career in 1952 in Marathon and retired from Grandview Lodge, Thunder Bay in 1996. She volunteered with Hospice Northwest after her retirement.

Mom had a wonderful sense of humour, light heartedness to her pain, and open heart to all who needed it.

Mom was a compassionate RN, a fashionista who had a wonderful sense of style, an empathetic heart, and a spunky spirit. Most of all, Mom was known for her fierce independence, feistiness, and grace.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team, as well as Dr. Mark Henderson, Dr. Capello, the staff at Sister Leila Greco and Janzen’s Pharmacy for their care and compassion shown to our mother over the last few years.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 4th, 2022 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral beginning at 11:00 am, celebrated by Msgr. P.M. Stilla. Interment to be held at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00 pm.

Should friends desire and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation and TBRHSF-Northern Cancer Fund.
