Rosetta Kolic
It is with profound sadness the family of Rosetta Curciarello-Kolic announce her peaceful passing on April 4, 2021 with beloved husband John at her side. Rosetta, known to her family and friends as Rosie, was born on January 7, 1970 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is survived by husband John, children Luka and Gabriella, mother Pina, brothers Tony and Joe, and predeceased by her father Domenico.

Rosie and John shared an enduring love throughout their nearly 15 years of marriage. They enjoyed the simple things in life together, but most of all being loving parents of their 2 children. She was a mother with a heart of gold who has left her Luka and Gabriella with many happy and cherished memories.

Rosie loved her family and always stayed close to them. They remained a source of encouragement to her during her illness, and she received strength from their support knowing she was never alone. Her faith, which was inspired through the examples set by her mother’s devotion to the Catholic Church, helped her remain gracious and strong throughout her 6 year battle with cancer.

Rosie’s passion about her career carried her through her 28 years as a teacher and coach. She inspired her students to do their best in whatever subject she taught, and showed them that participation and having fun was just as important as being competitive and successful. She made new and lasting friendships easily because she saw the best in people and was loyal to her cherished lifelong friends. Her interests included competitive sports, fitness, yoga and travelling.

Rosie will be dearly missed by many including Ivan and Barica Kolic (father and mother in-law), Christina and Mark Brassard (sister and brother-in-law), as well as extended family in Thunder Bay and abroad. She also leaves behind numerous close friends and colleagues.

The Curciarello/Kolic families wish to express their deep gratitude for those who supported Rosie with their care and compassion throughout her treatment. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dolores Siccheri, Dr. Joseph Del Paggio, Dr. Kevin Bezanson and the nurses of the T.B.R.H.S.C. Oncology ward and the Cancer Clinic.

A private funeral will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loretto R.C. Church with Rev. Francis Pudicherry officiating. Those wishing to watch the service virtually may do so on the Sargent & Son Facebook page. Rosie was known for her generosity and kindness, so it is her wish that donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Foundation directed to the new PET/CT Scanner Fund be given in lieu of flowers.
