Rosina Arabia passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hogarth Riverview Manor on October 16, 2017. She was born on May 12, 1926 in Paterno Calabro, Italy.
She immigrated to Canada in 1955 to join her husband Giovanni Arabia. Zia’s life was her home and family. Her door was always open to her many nieces and nephews.
We will always remember the smells and hear the laughter of family get-togethers making salami, sausages, preserving and baking in Zia Rosa Kitchen.
She is survived by her sister Marietta Brescia, brothers-in-law Frank Arabia, Antonio Arabia, Renato Arabia and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Giovanni on December 8, 2006, her parents Luigi and Chiara Proto, sisters Saveria Nerino, Giuseppina Ferraiolo, Antonietta Porto and her brother Franceso Porto.
Funeral services for Rosina Arabia will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church. Prayers and reception will be held one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
