It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rubina Santorelli, a beloved wife, Mother, aunt, sister, Nonna and friend.
Rubina Santorelli passed away at the age of 77 on Monday January 29th 2024 with her family by her side. Her memory will forever live on through her daughter Lucy, granddaughter Melissa, and grandson Michael.
Ruby was born in Naples, Italy on October 30th 1946. She immigrated to Thunder Bay with her parents and siblings in 1954.Where she met the love of her life Michele Santorelli. Together they raised their one and only daughter Lucia Ann Marie Santorelli (along with the neighborhood kids) whom they loved deeply. Her and Michele were together until his passing in 2007.
Her passions were her daughter and her grandchildren. She welcomed everyone with open arms and supported her family through everything. She followed her Italian traditions of making tomato sauce, hand-rolling pasta and pickling mushrooms or any other vegetable that her husband would grow in his garden. She also enjoyed hunting with her husband in the bush of Thunder Bay.
She will be greatly missed by her family, she was truly one of a kind. Also expressing their sadness of their beloved aunts passing are her nieces and nephews.
A church ceremony & celebration of life for Ruby Santorelli will be held at a later date both in Brampton & Thunder Bay.
