The family of Russell James Grierson would like to announce his peaceful passing at his home on Saturday, April 21, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Julia, and children Diana, Ryan and Kenneth.
Born on June 1st, 1946 and raised in Vancouver, he earned his Business degree from the University of British Columbia, followed by his Chartered Accounting designation. An avid sportsman in his youth, he played tennis, squash and rugby. He was a voracious reader, with an affinity for science fiction. In later years, he enjoyed swimming and spending time gardening with his wife.
Russell will be remembered as a supportive husband and father. He was grateful for the small things in life – seeing the yard’s tree bloom each spring, or sharing meals with his wife every day. He was known to make the best coffee, and even as he slowed down, would wake up each morning to make a cup for his wife that he adored, loved, and admired.
Funeral Services for Russell will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1pm in the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverly at Algoma with Rev. Rob Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cardiac Fund of Thunder Bay would be greatly appreciated.
