Mrs. Sabina Plucinska-Ruzick age 91 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Hogarth-Riverview Manor, with her daughter at her side on Friday, March 3, 2017.
Sabina was born and raised in Dzialy, Poland. She was predeceased by her first husband Jozef Plucinski in Poland in 1979. Following that Sabina came to Canada and eventually settled with her daughter Bozena and family. She met Max Ruzick, whom she married and spent six happy years together until his passing in 1999.
Sabina was a member of St. Casimir’s Church and the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Polish Branch #149. She enjoyed gardening, social events especially her weekend card games with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Bozena (Irek) Dzialakiewicz; grandsons, Paul Dzialakiewicz of Minneapolis and Arthur (Michelle) Dzialakiewicz of London,Ontario; great granddaughters Hayley (Kat) Klassen and Alexandra Dzialakiewicz; great great grandson Weston Klassen and stepdaughter, Eva (Don) Romanoff and family. Family surviving in Poland include daughter, Wanda Gluchowska; grandson, Irek (Katarzyna) Gluchowska; granddaughter, Malgorzata Gluchowska; great grandchildren, David and Karolina Gluchowska; sisters, Maria Blejwas, Matylda Pakosz and Jadwiga (Modest) Szklarkowski as well as numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands and son-in-law Zygmunt Gluchowska.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Casimir's Church celebrated by Rev. Ireneusz Stadler. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Prayers will be offered Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 at 6:30pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the St. Joseph’s Foundation (Hogarth Riverview Manor) would be appreciated.
