It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sally Eila Myllyaho (nee Nahkala) announces her passing on Monday, September 5, 2016. Mom was born on June 20, 1930 in Ware Township, On.

She spent her teenage years as a cook in the bush camps where she met and then married Timo Myllyaho on June 10, 1950. Mom and Dad had six children and celebrated their silver wedding anniversary before his passing in 1975.

Mom spent her working years as a cook at A&W, before moving to the kitchen at Dawson Court, from where she retired. She had a zest for life and was always there for her family and friends.

She loved to spend time with family and we all got to enjoy her Finnish pancakes and delicious pulla. She enjoyed cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events and she loved to knit, keeping her family in Kingston and BC as often as possible.

She also spent a lot of time visiting her very special friends in Minnesota. Up until recent years, she loved her weekly Bingo at 55 Plus and her weekly bus trips to Grand Portage.

Sally is survived by and will be missed by her six children and their spouses; Beverley (Len Dzierniejko), Eleanor (Mel Bradford), Ed (Gloria), Sherry (Jerry Luhtala), Terry( Louise) and Pat (David Opas), her fourteen grandchildren, Ryan (Whitney), Robin (Kelly) and Randy Dzierniejko, Tim (Mona) and Kyle (Shelena) Bradford, Crystal(Jared Vogel), Chris(Jen) and Jeff ( Myllyaho, Mike (Melissa) Luhtala, Mandy (Bryan Begall), Scott (Sarah) and Jessie (Marty) Myllyaho, Trevor (Stephanie) and Chris Opas, along with her 21 great grandchildren, will dearly miss their Mummu.

She is also survived by siblings Silja (Harold Hill), Allen (June) Nahkala, George (Evelyn) Nahkala and John (Ellen) Nahkala, as well as, Sylvia Myllyaho, Eila (Mauno Long) and Irma Smith.

She was predeceased by her husband Timo, her parents Amanda and Reino Nahkala, her in-laws Maria and Eero Verkomaki, her sisters and their spouses, Elma and Elmer Johnston, Nannie and Ralph Elder and Helen and Arnie Koivisto, brother Ahti Nahkala, brother-in-law George Myllyaho and good friends Russell Putikka.

Funeral Services for the late Sally Myllyaho will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Gordon Holroyd officiating.
