Mr. Sam Langila, age 87 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2015, at St. Joseph's Transitional Care Unit, with his loving family by his side. Born on November 2, 1927 in Port Arthur, he was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. 

Sam married the love of his life, Joyce Humby on June 7, 1952 and they shared 63 happy years together. 

Sam was a kind and gentle man whose greatest pleasures included time spent with family, his summer camp at East Loon Lake, playing pool, reading and travelling.

In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors.  Sam was a faithful and active member of St. John's Anglican Church serving in various capacities over the years. 

Lovingly remembered by wife Joyce, daughters Shelley Siedlikowski (Stan), Cheryl Mrowiec and Mary Dohan, all of Thunder Bay; grandchildren, Laura Suddaby (Ryan), Brendan Mrowiec, Christopher Dohan (Crissy Laurin), Justin Dohan (Melissa Doiron) of Calgary, Adam Siedlikowski, Kathleen Kreps (Dieter), Meghan Mrowiec (Charlie Sloan), Nicholas Dohan and Graham (Dohan) Margarit, great granddaughter Teanna Siedlikowski Wilson. 

Also survived by Larry Margarit, sister Eileen Francis, brother William Langila (Jeanette), his aunt Helen Anderson and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents Fern and Herman Langila, in laws Eva and Cecil Humby, son in law Peter Mrowiec, grandson Jordan Mrowiec, brother in law Allan Francis and nephews William Langila and David Langila. 

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 @ 11:00 a.m. when family and friends will gather at St. John's Anglican Church, 228 Pearl Street, conducted by Pastor David Knutson. 

Following the service the family will receive friends in St. John's Parish Hall.  Interment will be at a later date.  As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
