Samantha Pedrero
It is with sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Samantha Jean Pedrero (Smith) on Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Samantha was born in Thunder Bay on April 3, 1981 where she attended Westmount Public School and Westgate C.V.I. Shortly after, she temporarily relocated to St. Catharine’s and Edmonton where she found her passion and pursued her career in the trades as a drywaller/taper. As a kid, Samantha spent many of her summers camping at Arrow Lake Narrows. Every now and again Samantha could be found expressing herself through song at one of the local karaoke bars or knocking over some pins at Galaxy Lanes.

Samantha is survived by her two sons Chance Roy Smith and Justin Luis Pedrero, who she loved unconditionally; her mother and step-father Angela and Robert Bastien; her sister Melanie Smith (Emanuel); niece Abbigale Penney; nephew Ethan Penney; brother Tyler Bastien; grandparents Eileen and Roy Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and Justin’s father Luis Pedrero. Samantha was predeceased by her great grandparents Impi and Laurie Karila. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her very short time with us.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a private family graveside ceremony will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Samantha’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Valhalla Inn in the Viking Room.

Should friends or family so desire, a donation can be made to The Canadian Mental Health Association Thunder Bay or The Sister Margaret Smith Centre.
