Sankar Bachu passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side on February 4, 2015. He is deeply missed by his wife Mena (née Bootan) of 59 beautiful, loving blessed years.

Sankar was born on January 27, 1933 in Tunapuna, Trinidad to the late Bachu Doolam and Dhania.  He worked for 33 years at Pollanais & Blanc before moving to Canada.

Sankar's life was rich in love with his seven children Suresh (Polly), Leeta (Grant), Sandra (Imtiaz), Anna (Bruce), Dave (Gayatri), Barry (Jill) and Bally (Luciana).  No one could make him laugh more than his 10 grandkids Kavi, Alyssa, Shane, Lyle, Kim, Sasha, Kiran, Rhianna, Marilyn and Shalinee, and one great grandchild Kyle.
Sankar is survived by his siblings Shanti Paladee, Indra Barran and Vishnu Bachu.  He is also the brother of the late Bhojh, Boysie, Narend, Ramesh, Krishna and Chandra.

Nothing in Sankar's life was more important than his love for Mena. They were unconditional soulmates since teenagers.  They travelled and supported each other in all of their endeavours, and their love for one another was and is pure, genuine, and timeless.

Sankar Bachu led a humble, hardworking, respectable life.  He was the patriarch of the family, and an inspiration to all those around him.  His outlook on life can be summed up simply: "Do Good, See Good, Be Good, and Good Will Follow You."

Funeral Services for Sankar will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday February 8th, 2015 in the Chapel of the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street. Family and friends may gather in the Chapel up to one hour prior to service time.
