Sean was born December 12, 1967 in Port Arthur General Hospital, (Thunder Bay). Despite fighting cystic fibrosis all his life, he played minor hockey, earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Lakehead University, was tech savvy and carved out a life of meaning in his own way. His marvelous sense of humour and appreciation of life served him well dealing with other medical challenges following a double lung transplant in 2012. As the sun rose over a beautiful snow covered 2019 New Year’s Day in Thunder Bay, Sean quietly slipped away.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Elsie and Harry Dugard, Virginia and Pasquale Bortolussi and Uncle Denis Bortolussi. Left to mourn him are his mom and dad Arnie and Liz Bortolussi, sister Felicia (Ken McKinnon), special aunt Ruth Dugard, uncles Vincent (Gloria) and Norman (Ruth) Bortolussi , aunt Diane (John Hill) and aunt Jill Bortolussi, numerous cousins as well as relatives in the UK and Italy.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Victor DeGagne at Corpus Christi Church, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or the Renal Unit at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, would be appreciated.
