Shirley Mary Ann Collins, a lifelong resident of Fort William First Nation, sadly passed away at St.Joseph's with loved ones by her side on October 28, 2021.

Shirley is survived by Charles Jr (Tammy), Delores, Stewart (Kelly), Leon, Stephen (Myrna) and Jessica (who she raised) and her siblings Gordon Bannon (Melanie), Eleanor Cech (Andy), Carol Cornell (Winston), Catherine Collins, many nieces and nephews, numerous grandbabies, and great grandbabies whom she loved dearly.

Shirley was born in Fort William First Nation on August 21, 1940. She worked all her life at Hogarth-Westmount Hospital as a Housekeeper and has numerous friends for life there. On June 2nd, 1958 she married the love of her life, Charles Ambrose Collins.

Shirley was a very loving grandmother to all her babies, she was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around her. She enjoyed camping and cruising in her RV. She loved trips to Duluth and Minneapolis and hanging with her best friend, Jessie Bannon.

She is predeceased by her parents Vincent Bannon and Phyllis Fasano, husband Charles Ambrose Collins, brother Howard Bannon, sister Grace and Francis Ducharme, sister Regina McConnell, brother in law Peter Collins Sr, son in law Thorsten Walther.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Anne's Mission Church celebrated by Rev. Gerry McDougall. Interment will be held at a later date in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrews Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in St. Anne’s Mission Church with Vigil Prayers being held at 7:00 pm.

Should you wish to attend the Visitation or Funeral Mass you must provide your PROOF OF VACCINATION.
