Mrs. Shirley Margret Wakewich age 79 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully with family by her side in St. Joseph's Hospice, on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Shirley was born in Armstrong, Ontario on October 14, 1937.

She moved to Thunder Bay where she worked for several years as a bookkeeper for Hacquoil Construction, eventually going on to work with Revenue Canada. She spent many winters in Arizona, and also enjoyed trips to Hinckley. Shirley spent many years camping at Amberlite Camp Grounds and treasured time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley was a member of St. Dominic’s Church and the CWL for many years. She was also an avid curler at the Fort William Curling Club.

Shirley Wakewich is survived by loving husband Edward Wakewich, son Kevin Wakewich, daughter Suzanne (Raymond) Erven, grand-children Sarah and Ryan Erven, brother Bill (Anita) Dupuis and sister-in-law Lene Dupuis. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survived. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Stella Dupuis and brothers Edward and John Dupuis.

Funeral Mass for Shirley will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:00 am in the St. Dominic's Church, with Rev. Maurizio Maifredi  c.s. officiating.  If friends desire, memorials to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated.
