Born in Turin Italy on July 4th 1922. He and his family spent the first 45 years of his life in Italy and in 1967 moved his wife and two daughters to Canada where they made Thunder Bay their home. He was also an excellent bowler whom was involved with more than one league and has a trophy case that is lined with his achievements. He also enjoyed going on bowling trips with his league members. Bocce was also one of his favorite pass times. He would join his fellow Italian friends at the DaVinci Center and even with his failing eyesight Silvano continued to be a competitive force. He had a great love of sports and followed Soccer, F-1 Car racing and Tennis very closely.
