It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Silvere Thienpont, age 82 years, on Monday, January 3, 2022 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Silvere was born in Brugge, Belgium on April 9, 1939. In 1951, along with his family, Silvere immigrated to Canada, settling in Port Arthur. As a young man, he was an avid archer with The Lakehead Archers. Later on, he joined the Thunder Bay Karate Club earning his black belt and coaching for many years. Silvere was a career-long member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 397. He also enjoyed puttering in his beautiful gardens. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and uncle.

Survived by his daughter, Debbie (Todd) Domney; grandchildren Ashleigh (Tyler) and Alyssa Domney, Erin, Amanda and Ronny Tuckey; brother Robert and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Belgium.

Predeceased by his wife, Barbara; daughter Terrie Tuckey and his parents Ted and Mary Thienpont.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Silvere's life will take place at ta later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
