Mrs. Sjaan Adriona Charron age 98 years, a resident of Kakabeka age 98 years, a resident of Charron Adriona SjaanMrs. Falls, passed away peacefully in Pioneer Ridge with family by her side on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Sjaan was born in Utrecht, Holland on August 23, 1918, and came to Canada in 1952. She settled in Kakabeka, then O’Connor Township where she raised her sons, whom she loved dearly.
She married the love of her life Mathias Charron in 1974, who predeceased her in 1984. Sjaan “Dutchie” worked as a cook for Abitibi for a number of years. She was an active member of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Kakabeka and Altar Society of which she was president for many years. She was a member of the R.C.L. Kakabeka Br# 225. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and socializing with friends and family. She was small in stature but had a large bubbly personality.
Sjaan is survived by four sons, Ries Beerthuizen (Gail), Joe Beerthuizen (Joanne), Rene Beerthuizen and Mike Beerthuizen (Sharon), 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Sjaan is predeceased by her parents Ries and Katrina DeKorte, first husband Johannes (John) Beerthuizen, second husband Mathias Charron, son Addy, three brothers Jan, Ries and Gerad, two sisters Marie and Ann, grandson Ryan and granddaughter Theresa.
Funeral services will be held Randal Morrisseau. Interment will follow in O'Connor Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. You are a gift that will be missed.
