On the early morning of Wednesday, March 23, 2023, Stan Niedbala, age 84, passed away with his daughters by his side at St. Joseph’s Care Group, following a brief illness.
Stan, who was born in Port Arthur on January 31, 1939 to Antonina and Maciej Niedbala, leaves behind in mourning, Janet Niedbala, the mother of his three daughters: Diane (Mike Moland); Donna and her children Samara, Guage and Halle; and Barbara and her daughter Kendall, as well as his sister Helen Lukaway and her two children Karen and Doug. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law Morris Lukaway and nephew Donny Lukaway, and also leaving behind many cousins and lifelong friends – especially his inseparable buddy, Pat Johnson.
The family at this time wishes to thank all of the caring staff of the Emergency Department and 1A, both at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital (4 North). Much appreciation also goes out to the compassionate staff of ParaMed, Community Home Care Services, and Sargent & Son Funeral Home.
A memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christi R.C. Church at 10AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Following the service, Stan will be laid to rest next to his parents in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society, Paws for Love, or any other animal rescue would be appreciated, as Stan was an avid animal-lover.
