Mrs. Stella Schella passed over peacefully to her Lord and Saviour, Sunday January 15th, one week after her 87th birthday.

She was born into this world a daughter and left as a Mother holding hands with her daughter. She died on her own terms, when she wanted, without medical intervention.

Even in death Mom did things her way. This past Christmas we watched old movies showing Mom holding Saturday night parties with her siblings and families in her kitchen in the 50’s.

All the men wore suits, and the women looked like Hollywood Starlets with the glitzy dresses, rhinestones and pin up girl makeup. Babies were breastfed while shots were being poured and spaghetti sauce bubbled on the stove. It was a simpler time and much love was shared. A tremendous piece of Moms life was her faith and her church families.

She raised all five of us at Trinity Lutheran Church and we spent a good deal of our summer at Vacation Bible School and Camp Aurora where Mom always volunteered as cook. Man could she cook!

We all grew up canning pickles, picking mushrooms, strawberries and cranberries. In 1971 Mom and George built our camp at Whitefish Lake and until George died they spent every possible weekend and holiday there fishing, hunting and tending the gardens and fruit trees.

Baba loved to travel and has been to Europe, Israel and recently a world cruise. She is survived by her children Ed Agarand (Elaine), Andy Agarand (Debbie), Tami Siver (Tim) and Noni Tiboni (Bill), grandchildren Scott Daoust, Melissa Agarand, Shawna Agarand, Lisa Harris-Broe, Greg Agarand, Nicole Agarand, Andre Agarand, Robert Agarand, Shone Park, Bill Siver, Becky Siver, Chelsea Siver and Drayden Siver as well as her sister Sylvia Van Voort, numerous great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mom was predeceased by her husband George Schella and our sister Mikki Howard as well as parents Lena and Frank Kornylo, brothers John and Jerry Kornylo, sisters Lovey Rollick and Frances Girardin.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Blake Funeral Chapel at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor Roma Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Blake Funeral Chapel from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Quality or the Canadian Cancer Society.
