It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Susan Furlotte (nee Hartviksen). She passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on May 20, 2021.

She leaves behind her husband Don Furlotte, her daughter Jennifer Hamilton (Chris Hamilton), her grandson Zakkary Hamilton and her mother Audrey Hartviksen. Susan was predeceased by her father Robert Hartviksen and her daughter Melissa.

Susan lived her entire life on Farrand Street in Thunder Bay amongst a close network of friends, neighbours and extended family. Growing up she enjoyed summers at camp on Lake Superior. She attended Confederation College studying General Arts. She met Don in 1969 and they were married on May 20, 1972. After raising her children, she enjoyed spending much of her time as her mother’s companion, often travelling on cruises together.

Susan will always be remembered for her warm heart, love of family and spoiling her one and only grandson Zakk, with whom she enjoyed spending time.

She is also survived by her brothers Ken (Connie) Hartviksen and Grant (Grace) Hartviksen and her sister Karen (Michael) Leonard and her nephews Kellen
(Rachel) Hartviksen and Shawn (Armelle) Hartviksen, and her nieces Mandy (Mike) Ahtila, Keely (Steve) Cambly, Alison (Bojan) Celan and Melanie (Nick) Strzalkowski.

A small celebration of life with family and friends will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Susan would be appreciated.

In life, we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you will hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.
